Jekyll Island GETAWAY
This past week I had the chance to go have a little getaway at one of my favorite places! If you're ever traveling the coast and looking for a hidden gem, you have to check out Jekyll Island! Located right on the coast of Georgia, south of Savannah but only an hour from the Florida line is one of the most beautiful spots. The island is covered in large oaks, bike paths, and quiet beaches. The historic hotel is a must see, even if you're just coming by for a day! A walk around the property will take you past the water, pool deck, dining options, small shops, and even the Georgia Sea Turtle Center (a rescue center for injured and endanger sea turtles). While I was here I had a wonderful lunch on the porch from their cafe, while looking straight out on to the river and feeling those wonderful coastal breezes!
The hotel itself is the perfect destination for a quiet weekend away, a wedding, work event, or any kind of social gathering. I had a blast with my sister walking around and finding the perfect spots for some photos too!
If you're travelling around the entire island, there is even more to see! With over 20 miles of bike paths and public beaches, a day by the water is a must. There is a variety of restaurants (I recommend driftwood bistro, YUM) or just snack shops if you're in need of a rest from your biking. There are camp grounds, a local water park, and just a whole lot of natural beauty!
For my trip, I wore this super comfy Free People thermal, tucked into my favorite Free People skirt with large Tortoise shell buttons. For Christmas I was gifted this adorable polka dot Fossil purse and added a little extra charm with a Madewell scarf :)
